The mighty APO-Lanthar has now graced the 28mm world! What more to say about a lens whose optical performance is quite simply extraordinary. Using latest technology this lens is even shorter than its bigger sibling 35mm. As with all APO lens design - includes apochromatic color correction, floating lens elements for better close focusing performance, two double sided aspherical elements, five abnormal partial dispersion elements and superior multi-coating for outstanding flare control. If this wasn't enough, there are 12 aperture blades for circular bokeh, an astonishing MFD of just 0.28m mated to a beautifully designed metal hood thats included! A highly mystical lens!

Voigtländer APO-Lanthar 28mm F2 Overview
The APO-LANTHAR series of wide-angle lenses pursues the ultimate in performance, employing an apochromatic design and achieving as close to zero axial chromatic aberration of the RGB that make up the three primary colours of light as possible. It combines the performance of the best wide-angle lens in Voigtlander's history with compactness and ease of handling.
For Sony E-mount
The lens has electronic contacts to ensure that lens usage data is included in the Exif data of captured images. Furthermore, the built-in distance encoder enables support for 5-axis image stabilization on the body side. Other features include being able to magnify the finder display by operating the focus ring.
Optimised optical design
Provides an imaging circle that covers the 35 mm full frame format and utilises an optical design optimised for Sony E-mount sensors. High resolution is maintained up to the image periphery and colour shifts are well controlled.
Apochromatic design
Axial magnification chromatic aberrations are extremely well controlled to ensure compatibility modern high pixel count digital sensors.
Manual focus for reliable focusing
Employs a very precisely machined and adjusted all metal helicoid unit lubricated with high quality grease to realise smooth focusing operation with just the right amount of torque. This enables very precise focusing.
Click-less Aperture mechanism
The click-less aperture mechanism enables smooth capturing of video and fine-tuning depth of field.
