APO-LANTHAR 35mm F2 Aspheric E-mount

The new 35mm APO-Lanthar E mount has the highest resolution and highest color correction of all Voigtländer wide angle E lenses. As Voigtländer’s best performing E 35mm wide angle lens ever, the new 35mm APO-Lanthar continues the high performance standard of Voigtländer’s leading 50mm f2 APO-Lanthar E. Lens design criteria includes apochromatic color correction, floating lens elements for better close focusing performance, two double sided aspherical elements, five abnormal partial dispersion elements and multi-coating for outstanding flare control. Optical performance is quite simply extraordinary. Beautiful bokeh is enhanced with “circular bokeh” from the circular apertures produced at F2, F2.8, F5.6 and F16 -- best capturing point light sources. The 35mm APO-Lanthar E is similar in size to the already in production 50mm APO-Lanthar E. The manual focus APO-Lanthar E mount lens is chipped for full interface with Sony full frame or APSC cameras, providing EXIF data, focus assist, auto lens correction, and 5-Axis Image Stabilization (if camera supported). Selective aperture system allows optional clickless video operation.

Main features:

• With Sony E-mount compatible electronic contacts, the lens usage status is reflected in the Exif information of the shooting data. In addition, since it has a built-in distance encoder, it supports 5-axis camera shake correction on the camera body side. It is also possible to enlarge the viewfinder by operating the focus ring.

• Optimized optical design - a full-size image circle is secured, and an optical design optimized for the Sony E-mount sensor is adopted. High resolution is maintained up to the periphery of the screen, and phenomena such as color cast are suppressed.

• Apochromat design - thoroughly suppresses axial chromatic aberration and chromatic aberration of magnification in order to support the current digital sensor with high pixel count

• 12-blade aperture that allows you to enjoy the expression of bokeh. The aperture blades have a special shape that makes a circle not only in F2 but also in F2.8, F5.6, and F16. It is possible to draw using "ball blur" such as a point light source.

• Manual focus that enables reliable focusing by adopting an all-metal helicoid unit that has been processed and adjusted with high precision and high-quality grease that produces appropriate torque, focusing with a smooth operation feeling is realized. Allows for delicate focus adjustment.

• Aperture click switching mechanism - equipped with an aperture click switching mechanism that can open and close the aperture ring steplessly without generating a click sound. There is no need to worry about picking up the aperture ring operation sound when recording a video.
